Digipak cover research

Here are digipaks of 5 different albums within the genre of pop, it was very difficult to find the covers and very hard to find the inserts for the albums.

Carly Rae Jepsen - KISS
- The colour is very suitable to the genre as it gives off the typical girly pop vibes that you would expect from the artist.
-The colourful combination of clothing is a very generic convention of pop artists as they like to be portrayed as fun and bubbly.
- By using the artist signature as her name on the cover, it gives a personal touch to the album that may appeal more to her target audience.
- The design is very simplistic yet effective as it still emits the idea of being fun and lively, this is reflected in her music as it is simple yet catchy and energetic.

Taylor Swift - Red
- The lips are the focal point of Taylor on this album cover as they are done in bright red to go with the name of the album, make-up is generally very important to a Pop artists image and it especially is to Taylor Swift as she wears a lot of red lipstick on a day to day basis.
-The basic block writing fits well with Taylor's image as she isn't as eccentric as other Pop artists such as Katy Perry.
-The softness of the colours on the cover suggests that Taylor is quite a laid-back artist that is girly but not seen as a 'Pop Princess'.

Demi Lavato - Here We Go Again
- Demi's girly image really shines through on this cover due to the pink font that her name is in.
- With her looking into the camera, it makes it a fairly strong photo.
- The album title is less noticeable as it is more important to the artist that her audience notice it's her album first before knowing the title.

 Taylor Swift - Fearless
- The simple, neutral colours work very well with the laid-back songs on the album and fit with Taylor's 'country girl' image.
- Again we have a full front cover with a portrait of the artist and a fairly minimalistic back cover so that the outer is not too busy.
 Miley Cyrus - Breakout
-As Miley is originally a Disney Channel star, she still appeals to her T.V show audience from 'Hannah Montanna' therefore it needed to look young. The gold stars work very well in order to appeal to her young female fan base.
-She is shown looking as though she is having fun as his is what she wants her fans to feel like when they listen to her music.

-All of these digipaks really focus on the artists as they all contain photos of them so we know we will have to do photo shoot with our own Carly Rae Jepsen in order to follow the right conventions of a Pop album digipak.
