Maccabees
-Overall the home page looks good with the bright colours but it lacks information about the band.-It gives us a clear image of each of the band members.
-Social network links.
-Targeted to young male audience (teenagers) due to the colourful lego bricks and the hand written style of writing.
-They have been promoted as a fun 'lad band', you can see this from the way the band members are dressed and by the lego bricks in the background.
- The digipak is very well made as it is very creative with having the tracks on the colouring pens instead of just a straight forward list.
- We would be able to identify the CD from looking at the spine as it shows the album title and band name.
- All of the vibrant colours make it stand out and make it more interesting to look at.
- Again the band are portrayed as a 'lad band'
however the image on the insert on the left is more in the direction of a boy band and that is not what the Maccabees are as they are more of an indie band.
- The continuity with the lego on the home page and in the digipak is good.
Blur
-I like the overall theme of 'britishness' that runs throughout the digipak and homepage with the use of the union jack flag.
- It is clear that they have thought about their ideas thoroughly as the back and front cover especially are very well done. I think that using the warning section of a cigarette packet to display the track list on is a good original idea.
- They have let themselves down by not putting anything on the spine therefore the CD would be unidentifiable if it were on a shelf.
- I feel as though the photo of the band portrays them in the wrong way as they look slightly like a boy band.
- I really like the homepage as it has similar images to what they have used in the digipak.
- I has a lot of information which is good, however it can seem a little too busy and cluttered but overall I think that it is a very well thought out home page.
